Adhesive Lined “Sticky Tube”/ Encapsulating Tubing
IDP “Sticky Tube” is a unique manufacturing process which creates composite material tubing with an acrylic based adhesive lining applied to the inside diameter of the finished tubing product. The adhesive lining maintains a sticky texture over an extended period of time. It is designed to adhere to components and remain fixed without displacement during component processing. It provides additional thermal and electrical insulation properties and can be used to completely encapsulate the component being covered. These properties are in addition to the thermal, electrical and mechanical properties found in the base substrate.
The primary use for this product is Motor Lead Termination Insulation, but it is used industry wide on any component where a tubing product needs to be held in place for additional manufacturing steps.
Adhesive Lined/Encapsulating Tubing products can be created using a wide variety of substrates including PET film, Mylar, HS Mylar, Kapton, Nomex, Electrical Grade Paper and virtually any combination of materials. They are available in a wide range of diameters, thicknesses, lengths, and colors.
These products are custom manufactured with a diverse range of Electrical, Mechanical, Thermal, and Chemical properties depending on the customer’s particular application and the substrates used in its composition.
Kapton®, Nomex® and Mylar® are Registered Trademarks of Dupont Teijin Films
